We seek an experienced, dynamic and talented Senior Architect to join our firm to provide leadership to our strong and successful affordable housing practice. This position has a potential career track to partner/owner. The Senior Architect will work with and lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from design and documentation through construction, to create sustainable, safe and livable urban neighborhoods. This position will manage our existing housing clients and market to new clients, winning new work for the firm. This Senior Architect will have a strong passion for architecture and particularly affordable housing. He or she will be a leader, teacher and mentor for the staff; will have an open-door policy for communication; will interact and collaborate well with all levels of employees and share credit with them for their contributions. He or she will be entrepreneurial, demonstrate good business sense, will generate positive visibility for the firm in industry, professional, and client circles; will provide intellectual leadership; will make presentations to clients, consultants, and at public meetings; and will grow the practice nationally and internationally.

Requirements |

|
·Registration/Licensure in Architecture is required. ·Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required; Master’s in Architecture a plus. Strong academic performance. ·5 to 10+ years of architectural project management experience, including staff supervision. Experience must include leading multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with affordable housing preferred; alternative experience may be in other types of housing, academic campuses, mixed use or senior living. ·Familiarity with sustainability in design. LEED accreditation desired. ·Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to lead client and consultant meetings and make skillful presentations at public meetings. This also includes the ability to communicate well with your staff and develop them. ·Strong track record of professional development as evidenced by such things as awards, published papers, industry-related blogging, lecturing, mentoring, service with professional organizations and/or board membership, conference presentations. ·Excellent design and contract documentation skills. Strong technical skills, specifically with housing/stick-frame construction. Solid technical understanding of buildings. ·Hand drawing skills are preferred, computer drawing is expected (Freehand or Illustrator). ·Skills with Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint). Skills with AutoCAD or Revit are a plus ·Entrepreneurial. Must understand client development and be good at networking. ·Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed. ·Commitment to urban community design, housing and sustainable design **Please note that you must submit a document containing work samples when you apply.
