ROLE of the POSITION

The School of Architecture in the College of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applicants for an Assistant Professor position in the Architecture program. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track position , beginning in the Fall 2010 semester. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate design studios and related lecture courses in architectural tectonics, building materials and construction technologies, that incorporate building information modeling (BIM).

The School of Architecture offers accredited degrees in Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture and Planning and is strategically located in one of the world’s most unique, dynamic and challenging design laboratories- Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the many exciting opportunities at the UNLV is the newly formed relationship with the Brookings Institute to research sustainability in arid climates. The SoA is committed to innovative teaching, timely research/creative and service to the community.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Master of Architecture degree or terminal degree in a related discipline, teaching experience and a record of scholarly, creative or professional work. Applicants should be conversant with BIM software and must possess, or be qualified to pursue, professional registration and LEED certification. A record of external funding and service to the community is desirable. Applicants should have a commitment to sustainable design and construction.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
