Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: - The Senior Design Architect is accountable to produce design ideas, concepts, and specific solutions that will deliver results that can be described as: creative, with impact, cost effective, productive, genuine, resourceful, timely, and complete. - Produce design solutions that positively influence the character of the retail environment within and surrounding the facility in terms of volume, color, lighting, materiality, texture, durability, sustainability, circulation, signage, way-finding, and graphics. - Provides mentoring and guidance to other team members and provides leadership and expertise to cross-functional teams. - Acts as an expert providing direction and strategic guidance to design development and process improvements. - Define and manage a program of information to create design solutions that will include a comprehensive floor plan, exterior elevations, interior elevations, graphic imaging, and all material selections and finishes. - Present design solutions through excellent graphic presentation skills either manually and/or with computer applications. - Create highly detailed, complete, and accurate two-dimensional plans and merchandising concepts. - Develop design guideline documents. - Apply design standards necessary for the successful development of building sites. - Collaborative working relationship with internal and external teams to review and discuss document solutions that delivers the design intent in an effective, efficient, and productive way. - Provide outstanding customer service that delivers solutions that meet or exceed the customer's expectations relative to design, image, productivity, and quality. - Accountable for the directed support implementation, and maintenance of standards that promote the achievement of successful design execution - Develops clear work plans, processes and action steps that support H-E-B's overall strategies and achieve results. - Identifies the appropriate work steps, structures, and processes to accomplish goals. - Requires the identification and application of systems, materials, and solutions that will deliver creative low cost solutions to minimize a project's cost of occupancy.


Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: - Bachelor's Degree in Professional Architecture from an accredited university or comparable experience. - 10 or more years experience. - State of Texas Architectural Registration (or equivalent). - Architectural design skills. - Exceptional graphic presentation skills. - Understanding of building systems and their coordination/integration. - Structural, Architectural, MEPR. - Understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, handicap accessibility codes, and the direct application of such. - Dynamics and application of site and landscape design. - Understanding of sanitation concerns and regulations and how to apply them. - Understanding of appropriate materials use and methods of construction. - Proficiency in graphic design and the use of color, form, scale, and texture. - 2D and 3D presentation graphics. - Dynamics of project scheduling. - Cost analysis and impact upon business models. - Application and use of time management techniques. - Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment.
