The Promontory Conservancy, a Master Planned Residential Community in Park City, Utah, is seeking to immediately fill an Architectural Assistant position. The candidate will report directly to the Conservancy Design Architect. Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organizational and communication skills. The position entails the following responsibilities which may be expanded over time:
The primary Architectural Assistant's tasks are:
Develop a clear technical understanding of the Design Guidelines (readily available from our website Promontoryclub.com) and can apply that technical understanding to those areas of the guidelines that require interpretation.
Perform the technical review of custom homes submitted for review to The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) for compliance with the Promontory Design Guidelines.
Attend and prepare reports for the ARC meetings on the design compliance with recommendations on correcting any deficiencies.
Field initial questions from Architects, Designers, Owners and Builders concerning the Design Guideline Requirements and review processes.
Participate in the Design Architect's meetings with Owners and/or their Architects & Builders and provide input as necessary.
Calculate and process Design Review fees.
Collaborate with Promontory's ARC Field Inspector and Director of Legal Services on Design Guideline construction issues and final release by the Conservancy after the home is completed to assist Owners, Architect and Builders in resolving any problems they may have during the construction of their home.
Keep tract and prepare reports of home construction and review statics for the Promontory Conservancy Board meetings.
Prepare recommendations on future Design Guideline revisions.

Quick learner: Even while working, the architect's assistant should be able to learn the new concepts and methods adapted in the design review process. The candidate should be able to adapt these skills at the workplace itself.
Tech savvy: It is desirable that the architect's assistant be proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word and Excel
Conversational: The architect's assistant should be able to initiate and involve in the conversations to understand, explain and maintain a proper flow of instructions and information.
Flexible: He should be able to adapt to the changing circumstances, work for long periods at a stretch, and also handle additional responsibilities efficiently.
Becoming an Architect Assistant
The minimum requirement for this job is a four year degree in architecture. Previous experience is not a prerequisite although it can be of a great help if the competition is stiff.
