Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering
We invite expressions of interest for the prestigious position of Architect in Residence/International Architect in Residence. This is a fixed-term part-time position, with flexibility concerning length of tenure (1-3 years) and time in residence (50-100 days per annum).
The purpose of the Architect in Residence/International Architect in Residence position is to improve collaboration between architects and engineers and built environment design practice.
This will be achieved through a programme of work that is expected to include:
delivering public lecture(s) and/or seminar(s) to professional groups
teaching selected design studio course(s) in the undergraduate civil engineering and/or postgraduate architectural engineering programmes
participating in interdisciplinary research programmes
providing professional advice.
We are seeking a leading architectural practitioner who is acknowledged within the architectural profession, ideally with demonstrated capability in communicating advanced design concepts and methods to building design professionals and students. Experience in design studio teaching and the ability to contribute to postgraduate teaching in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: building systems; building envelopes; human factors in design; digital design and construction; sustainable building design and building performance monitoring and assessment.
There will be some flexibility to tailor the programme of work to suit your availability, interests and expertise.
