Leidos is looking for a BIM Modeler to join our team in our Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) Program as a BIM Modeler.
The candidate will support the CAEG P.O in the areas of 3D BIM Modeling, CAD drafting, drawing and model management, compliance with CAD and BIM standards, review of models and drawings, and support the administration of Electronic Document Management System. The candidate will serve as the BIM/CAD SME and support the P.O and service areas by establishing CAD/BIM workflows, reviewing drawing and model submissions provided by the AE firms, advising the CAEG PO on means and methods, researching new technologies and exploring integrated solutions . The candidate will also train others in the use of CAD and BIM modeling, and serve as a go to resource. This position will also require daily interactions with the FAA customers both at the program office and the service areas and the ability to help shape policies related to the use of BIM and CAD.
Leidos delivers services and technical leadership for mission-critical federal government, public sector, and private sector programs. This position supports our customer, the Federal Aviation Administration on the NISC III contract and is located in Washington DC a few blocks from L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station.
Five (5) years of experience working with 3D modeling tools like Revit, AECOSim in an Architectural/Engineering(A/E) office environment
Three years of (3) years of experience in coordinating models from all engineering disciplines for design and construction
Experience with both BIM modeling and 2D CAD drafting
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
Extensive experience building or maintaining model family libraries
Experience reviewing models and model files for compliance with agency and AIA BIM standards
Experience checking models for clearances, potential conflicts, and relationships of the various parts to the whole and to one another and create reports
Experience setting up project structure, directories, schedules and libraries for BIM projects
Experience setting up and managing configuration of model files for projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
Proficiency using Bluebeam and Adobe PDF tools
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
Advanced knowledge of MicroStation and AECOSim
Experience with ProjectWise and administration of ProjectWise
