SUMMARY: The Intern Architect 2 is expected to have a basic understanding of design and planning principles. In this position the supervisor generally screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques/procedures for non-routine work. This person will receive close supervision on new aspects of assignments and performs specific/limited portions of assignments suited to more experienced architects using prescribed methods.
· Perform routine architectural assignments under direct supervision and works from the design of others.
· Perform design computations.
· Make quantity takeoffs and assists with preparation of estimates.
· Prepare architectural plans and renderings with limited supervision.
· Consult manufacturers, evaluates materials.
· Assist with compiling data.
A graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree program.
1-2 years of experience in an architectural firm.
LEED AP beneficial.
Revit, Microsoft Office, In-Design, Illustrator, PhotoShop and SketchUp experience preferred.
Practical experience in development and detailing of higher education facilities and Occupancy Groups A, B, E and M.
Practical understanding of building systems in Type I, Type II and Type III construction
Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills are required.
Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience, +3% profit sharing!
