Quezada Architecture, an award-winning Architecture & Design firm based in San Francisco is seeking an Architectural BIM Manager & Intermediate Architect/Designer for immediate hire. Our portfolio encompasses a diverse range of project types including high-rise office and residential towers, hospitality projects, high-end residential, commercial office interiors, and civic projects. The firm is multi-disciplinary with expertise in architecture, interiors, and planning.

BIM MANAGER- This position requires an individual who is competent in the design and technical fundamentals of architecture and interior architecture. Under the supervision of senior staff, this person will collaborate on the design, documentation and consultant coordination of new buildings. As this is an extremely rich period for career growth, we are looking for an individual who is both comfortable asking for guidance and pro-active in their professional growth.
INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECT/DESIGNER- This position requires an individual who is experienced in the design and technical nuances of architecture. This is a key position in our firm where you will be collaborating on the design, documentation and consultant coordination on a wide array of project types. Experience in project management a plus but more importantly, we are looking for someone who has worked on complex projects and has experience in all aspects of the project delivery process.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited Architecture Program
5+ years of related experience working in a design office
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND SOFTWARE
Must be able to initiate and create technical drawings for the SD, DD and CD phases of project documentation
Must have experience developing details
Revit 2014-2017 (High level of aptitude Mandatory )
Create written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals
Chair the company’s BIM committee
Report on the company’s current and projected state in regards to BIM implementation
Create Upgrade and Deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort
Assess: evaluate the firms current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects, staffing, etc.
Plan: create a plan for implementation. Who are the team members, what is the project, what are the goals, etc.
Solve: execute the plan, install the software, get templates created, get training, do the pilot project, etc.
Confirm: be able to demonstrate the company’s BIM success by evaluating goals that were established in the Assess Phase
Support project standards coordination with customers
Assist on project work – modeling and detailing
Assist project teams in BIM project setup
Create Revit families in response to project need
Help resolve BIM design issues
Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team
Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT. Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate, and update all electronic models
Linking BIM to the project Construction Administration Phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings, and schedules
Revit Skills Required:
Minimum of 4 years BIM project experience from DD through CD design phase
Working knowledge of Revit family creation, standards and maintenance
Working knowledge of work-sharing collaboration tools
Familiarity on BIM related software or plug-ins is a plus e.g. Navisworks, CGS, Dynamo, A360, Newforma, etc.
Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 + professional certification is a plus
Adaptability – Ability to learn and grasp quickly new direction and shift priorities as needed
Communication – Ability to discern BIM terminologies and communicate with team members effectively and efficiently
Time Management – Must be realistic about the amount of time required to complete the assigned tasks and responsibilities, and assess present or potential issues which will have an impact on meeting specific deadlines
Work Ethics – Ability to take directions accurately, responsibly and quickly Diligence, professional demeanor and detail oriented skills will be valued by the team
Passion – Willingness and passion in all aspects of the built environment and BIM focused application and process will be valued
Creativity – Ability to explore unconventional concepts and tackle production challenges
Work collaboratively with others during BIM production.
Work on defined tasks under direct supervision.
Create and edit Revit families, and maintain appropriate standards at various design phases.
Construct LOD 200-300 families and drafting details
Collaborating with team in the concept phase to development of the approach to the project
Using 3D visualizations and conventional architectural drawings to convey these ideas to clients and builders
Contributing to and helping maintain CAD/BIM library organization.
Helping with preparation of project presentation materials such as boards and presentation books
Following standards established by global and local technology committees
Developing details for review
Mentoring junior staff
Preparing technical documentation of projects
Coordinating drawings and specifications
Meeting and coordinating with project consultants
Files project correspondence and drawings as required
Collaborates with other staff on workflow optimization between technical drawings and 3D visualizations
Keeping current with software upgrades
Attending client presentations
Preparing and issuing Bid Documents
Preparing codes search and ADA documentation evaluations
Assisting Senior Designers through Construction Administration
All work is to be done on premises in our San Francisco office. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
