Living Shelter Design Architects is searching for an architectural design professional with solid experience with both custom homes and community spaces, and a passion for sustainability. Our current work includes exciting projects in historic adaptive reuse in both urban and rural environments, net positive custom homes and remodels, cottage developments, community gathering spaces, and sanctuary centers.
We are a small and growing firm, so are looking for an organized, self-proficient strategic thinker that is able to manage multiple projects and tasks. Your responsibilities will include helping establish and maintain project budgets, fostering vibrant client and contractor relationships, mentoring junior staff, and providing quality control on all projects. You will contribute to all phases of design and project management, including program development, planning, design and documentation, assembling construction documents, and construction phase services.
You should have a minimum of 15 years architectural office experience, with at least 5 of those producing and managing custom home projects, and at least 5 of those producing and managing community or small commercial projects, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
Please possess excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills; be adept with national and regional building and planning codes; and have a demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Suite, and hand drawing/lettering.
Bonus points for knowledge of alternative construction methods; Passive House, Living Building, or LEED BD+C accreditation; professional license; and construction experience.
