The Interior Designer participates in the project design, production and delivery. The Interior Designer is responsible for providing assistance with programming, space planning, documentation, furnishings and finishes selection, construction and installation services. The Interior Designer is expected to integrate information, prepare coordinated documents, and assist in project implementation.
Specific responsibilities of the Interior Designer may include, but shall not be limited to:
Preparation of construction documents, millwork details & material specifications.
Assists senior management in leading the design studio and providing comprehensive project management
Prepare, coordinate and present presentation drawings for in-house reviews & material/sample design presentations to Client.
Explore alternative design material and color scheme directions within the constraints of the Client's program and budget, as required.
Develop and maintain a practical knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
Review schematic design, design development and construction documents for conformance with the interior design intent.
Participate in space programming interviews/ Review and confirm program information.
Research and select materials, colors, and furnishings.
Review pertinent shop drawings and material samples for conformance with design intent.
Promote office capabilities on current projects to increase scope of work.
Assist in preparing project descriptions and history.
Maintain knowledge of office standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist in developing design goals with Architectural Design Studio.
Develop details, material palettes and furnishings that are consistent with the design direction and support of the overall quality of the project.
Input program data into electronic formats.
Generate a design that can be technically implemented.
Prepare documentation of meetings.
Provide contract administration assistance.
Develop design solutions that meet the Client's goals, needs, budget, and schedule.
Meet task and project deadlines.
Execute design solutions within the budget design hours.
Assist in proposal/marketing efforts.
5-7 years professional experience.
Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E materials, space planning, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
Strong Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Suite skills.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Strong computer software application skills.
Graduate of accredited interior design program or other related design program.
