Award-winning international design firm Perkins Eastman seeks a Communications Writer to join our in-house Communications Group. The Communications Coordinator will work directly with the firm-wide Communications team on a variety of storytelling initiatives including copywriting for collateral materials, blog posts, bylined articles, media campaigns, internal communications, and social media platforms. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of story fundamentals, a keen sense of newsworthiness, stellar interviewing and writing skills, and a solid understanding of how to combine text, images, audio and video to create an authentic storytelling experience that is true to Perkins Eastman’s brand. We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring and engaging our employees and clients through creative storytelling. We want to showcase each of our stories in a unique and interesting way, so each story must be delivered in its own voice with a targeted, personalized approach while also supporting our overarching brand. Storytelling in today’s digital world is so much more than the copy, so we are also looking for a Communications Writer who loves trying out new innovative formats, using visuals and multimedia to bring the story to life.

Familiarity with HTML, CSS, UI design, responsive/adaptive design principles are a plus. You don’t have to do it, just understand how you can use those tools to your advantage.
Bachelor Degree in Communications or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic marketing & communications
Minimum 3 years of creative writing experience
Experience in creative writing across various channels – blogs, social media, video, etc.
Background in agency a plus
Ability to quickly simplify messages
Ability to develop and apply creative solutions to complex issues
Innate love of learning
Proactive, can-do attitude
Demonstrated leadership in a professional setting
