The Sr. CAD Designer/Project Coordinator designs and maintains all technical drawings for USOC buildings and leased properties using AutoCAD and Revit and manages small maintenance projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Drawings: Design and provide drawings to be used internally and by contractors for construction and renovation purposes. Maintain and update building floor plans, square footage counts and life safety plans using AutoCAD and Revit per drawing standards. Field verify existing conditions. Upload latest drawing backgrounds into Archibus and Bluebeam. Ensure all electronic and hard copy drawings are continuously up-to-date and available for use. Incorporate all renovations into master drawings.
Drawing Standards: Develop and maintain drawing standards for AutoCAD & Revit. Maintain filing standards for master drawings.
Office, Furniture and Finish Standards: Develop and implement standards for office space, furniture, and finishes. Assist with developing and maintaining USOC finish standards including paint, flooring, tile, wood, etc. Ensure that USOC standards are incorporated in plans prepared in-house and by outside design firms.
Project Management and Project Assistance: Manage small maintenance projects and assist project manager on larger projects when needed. Obtain quotes for labor, develop schedule, track invoices, contract labor and services. Communicate with all parties impacted by project.
Staff Support: Provide space planning options and drawings from written or verbal specifications. Review design layouts to identify and resolve problems. Participate and evaluate design concepts, provide recommendations. Ensure all space planning options are within code and USOC standards.
Cost Accounting: Track projected costs against actual expenditures from conception to project completion. Ensure that all costs are tracked. Keep cost information current, including change orders, proposals, consultant fees, etc.
Contract Administration: Administer contracts and/or purchase orders and ensure contractor complies with all drawings, specifications, and terms of the contract. Ensure contractor maintains and delivers accurate as-built drawings formatted to USOC specifications.
Communication: Must be an effective communicator both orally and written as this position requires frequent interaction with people from all USOC Divisions, NGBs, consultants, contractors and the general public.
Computer Systems: Utilize computer programs such as: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam, Archibus, AutoCAD and Revit for correspondence, project documentation, preparing space plans, and uploading drawings.
Other: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent formal training. Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with CAD/Revit, preferably in an architectural and design environment.
Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of architectural drawings, redlines and drawing standards.
Ability to use MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Archibus, Revit and any type of Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system for correspondence, project documentation, preparing space plans and uploading drawings.
Familiar with National, Regional and Local Building codes.
