The Facilities and Real Estate team creates and constructs innovative workplace environments that enable business success through: comprehensive and thoughtful planning, innovative and sustainable design, and well-planned, timely execution.
The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for defining and developing signature EA elements to create inspired workspaces for EA’s facilities globally. This individual will also work closely with business unit leaders to understand the individual identities of each studio or business unit in order to develop interior design and aesthetics that highlight each team’s unique character and qualities. The Senior Design Manager will apply knowledge of environment psychology to create spaces which engage our people and allow them to do their best work.
Partner with key EA leaders and team to consult with and solicit feedback on the design of their workplaces
Demonstrates creativity and flexibility to achieving optimal design while adhering to budgets
Coordinate with design consultants and Facilities team for FF&E specification, artwork/branding, lighting and lobby experience
Responsible for the partnering and driving design plans with external design consultants (Architecture groups)
Responsible for preliminary test fits of potential projects
Collaborate with project managers to forecast optimal design for budgeting
Apply and implement creative design concepts and renderings using computer assisted 3-D modeling software
Guide the selection of finishes while ensuring consistent approach to create flexibility and future adaptability
Provide directional support on design issues during design and construction, including input to relevant projected costs, coordination of programming requirements and problem solving
Leverage company assets to develop proper branding and environmental graphics applications for projects
Production, coordination and delivery of plans, elevations, renderings, and details on a limited scale Create, maintain and update drawings as needed and limited space planning contribution for current key EA locations as required
Develop presentations to clients & senior management, including renderings, material finishes, colors, and FF&E items
Serve as a resource to the Facilities and Real Estate team for changes in code (UBC, IBC, ADA Standards) and other workplace trends
Interact with various internal departments such as Branding, Marketing and Creative Services to ensure consistency with key EA elements.
High level expertise in workplace environment and optimization inclusive of sound pollution, lighting impacts, integrate branding and workspace interaction flow
Detailed understanding of integrating and harmonizing mechanical systems, lighting systems, air quality systems, and sound in the environment
Understanding of the architectural process and the psychology behind the design
Knowledge of how to solve process related issues succinctly
Ability to work independently as well collaboratively across the organization with internal and external stakeholders
Proactively manages conflicts to both achieve results and maintain effective relationships
Understanding of workplace trends, including knowledge of workplace strategy and furniture systems
Design knowledge and excellent graphic skills
Ability to work effectively with internal management
Full understanding of how workplace environments affect creativity and productivity through data and analytics.
Must be have an understanding of budgets and be able to impact of specifications and design elements to the overall project budget.
Ability to maintain schedules for various projects to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, as well as collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment
8-12 years of relevant experience in architecture for commercial office space, including interiors
Strong computer graphics and desktop publishing skills
Strong written and oral communication skills, along with effective interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Windows /NT, Microsoft Office, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch Up and AutoCad, Revit or other 3D software tools
Bachelor and/or Master of Architecture degree with Architecture License
Coursework or demonstrated self-learning in environmental psychology
Continuing education or post-graduate level studies (i.e. MBA, Masters of Architecture, Masters of Landscape Architecture)
