HBG Design is seeking an Architectural Designer for our Memphis and San Diego offices who can actively contribute to the delivery of engaging design experiences for our national and international clients. This position will lead the overall design concept development effort in collaboration with the Project Architect and will create embracing interior experiences that capture the design goal of a project. As an Architectural Designer, you will develop design schemes with project teams that include architectural elements, decorative elements, functional elements, and furnishings. You will also prepare presentation materials that include concept sketches, floor plans, diagrams, and presentation boards.

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture
Licensed Architect or on licensure track
8-10 years practical experience with a focus on and passion for design
Experience in hospitality, gaming, and/or entertainment projects preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead interior project teams comprised of Interior Architects, Interior Designers & Interns in collaborating with the building architect to integrate building and interior architecture to respond to the client’s needs
Thorough understanding of the design process, market expertise, and client expectations.
Graphic and artistic ability and/or computer/technology capability in design
Demostrated ability to oversee the documentation of design
Demonstrated advanced grasp of the project development and production processes
Demonstrated aptitude for presentation skills both verbally and graphically to communicate designs both graphically and orally to clients, consultants and internal team
Knowledge of building codes, handicapped accessibility, and other regulatory requirements that affect the safety and comfort of end users
Strong organizational and communication skills
Quality hand sketching skills to graphically communicate design ideas are highly desired
