Seeking a qualified Architect in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area. We are a leading architecture and engineering firm providing a range of professional services in AE Services for government, healthcare and institutional buildings.
The candidate would be responsible for whole building design and leading the architectural design and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams for projects ranging in size and scope. As a member of our team you may: • Oversee and execute design, drawing production, quality assurance, and coordination of AE building and renovation projects • Oversee schedules and budgets of projects • Oversee as well as participate in the design and productivity of projects. • Manage and work on the design multiple projects and AE team squads in execution of the work • Interface with other project leaders and unit leaders to coordinate schedules and staffing between projects. • Interfacing with clients and attending meetings as required • Site visits to verify that the work complies with what the contract states, codes, standards, etc. • Providing direction and assistance to collegial staff. • Perform field analysis with associated reports and presentations • Travel approximately 6-12 times a year • Ability to multi-task including directing staff, mentoring other engineers, producing documents, and coordinating with other trades.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field
Architectural Registration and NCARB certification; held for at minimum 5 years; must be able to acquire registration reciprocity in additional states when required
Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Must have experience in construction specifications such as Master Spec and SpecsIntact
LEED Certification desired
Eight to ten years of architectural design experience
Strong Design Excellence background
Be able to review design and construction submittals, trouble shoot systems, and assist the project managers and quality assurance personnel.
Federal and/or federal healthcare experience preferred
Experience with non-traditional contract vehicles such as design/build
Strong verbal/written communication skills; strong organizational skills
Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present clear and technically sound engineering strategies
Need to be able to acquire clearance and US government access suitability
Review of portfolio of work will be under high critique
