Bayhealth is Central and Southern Delaware’s largest health care system, Bayhealth is comprised of Kent General and Milford Memorial hospitals, the freestanding Emergency Department in Smyrna as well as numerous satellite facilities and employed physician practices encompassing a variety of specialties.
The Staff Architect is responsible for the planning, development and execution of new construction and renovation projects from inception through to completion, as well as master planning and lifecycle management activities for Bayhealth enterprise-wide. Will contribute significantly to the overall direction of architectural design, campus planning, landscape architecture, and capital planning. Coordination with various hospital departments and committees, City, County, and State agencies, Associate Architects and Consulting Engineers, and Construction Firms.
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor degree in Architecture, five (5) years’ experience in architectural design or related work experience, at least three (3) of the five years within healthcare. Must have demonstrated experience in AutoCAD design and in-depth knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, REVIT and other designing applications, In-depth knowledge of MS project software and ability to schedule projects and Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office or similar software. Must be a Licensed Architect or ability to obtain license within two (2) years.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: • Knowledge of JC/CMS and FGI standards applicable to health care construction; state codes, standards and regulations. • Analytical skills necessary to interpret and develop plans and specifications. • Ability to read and develop plans, specifications and other documents related to construction projects. • Knowledge of budget control and accounting normally associated with construction management. • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to lead a group to develop and execute solutions to construction problems • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
