Key position managing historic preservation planning and design projects across Arizona although primarily in metropolitan Phoenix. Project/service types include:
Building measurement and documentation
Rehabilitation / adaptive use design
Building Condition Assessment reports
Historic resource surveys
National Register nominations
As Project Manager, manage and coordinate the work of engineers and other consultants. Supervise junior office staff within project team. Reports to Principal Architect.
The Historical Architect may also work on new construction projects, depending on office workload. (The firm's portfolio is approx. 75% historical and remodel, 25% new construction.)
Requires the ability to contribute and excel in a wide variety of project types with particular emphasis on historic preservation projects. The ideal applicant will possess:
Knowledge of relevant historic preservation standards, typical historical construction methods and materials, building code issues as they relate to historic rehabilitation.
Excellent English language written and verbal communications skills and the ability to author technical reports that are readable and concise.
Ability to direct and produce construction documents using BIM systems.
Enthusiasm for celebrating all facets of American and Southwestern history in our built environment.
