three: living architecture is a small architecture and planning firm based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in hospitality, senior living, and residential design. At this time we are seeking all levels of Architectural Interns and a Project Manager to join our award-winning design team.
We are looking for professionals who demonstrate a willingness to learn and be mentored, possess high standards and sound judgment, and work well within a team environment. Successful candidates will be hard working, motivated to meet deadlines, able to self-monitor and prioritize work, and have strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Position Responsibilities for Architectural Intern include:
Level 1 (less than 2 years experience):
Prioritizes and performs the tasks as assigned in Design, Production, and/or Construction Administration
Maintains ongoing, positive, and productive relationships with staff
Effectively and proactively seeks to complete the IDP requirements and ARE exams
Implements three: living architecture’s standards in all phases of the design process
Develop technical architectural documents primarily in the DD and CD phases, with guidance from a Project Manager or Project Architect as part of a team
Learns from each project and applies learned skills to the next project
Work within the schedule provided to deliver coordinated documents
Work overtime if required to meet deadlines
Support the Project Architect in the performance of his/her responsibilities
Performs the initial document review for quality design conformance and adherence to documentation standards before asking Project Architect or Project Manager for his/her review
Plans weekly goals with Project Architect and/or Project Manager
Level 2 (2-3 years experience):
In addition to the above, manages Intern 1
Level 3 (3-6 years experience):
In addition to the above, manages and mentors a less experienced Intern as required
Position Responsibilities for Project Manager (8-10 years of relevant experience) include:
Formalizes and prioritizes the project’s success goals in concert with the firm’s overall success goals
Conveys the project’s success goals with all team members and solicits buy-in
Ensures that the project conforms to the contractual agreement with the client
Effectively manages project budget to ensure profitability
Effectively manages project to ensure completion within allocated time constraints
Maintains ongoing, positive, and productive relationship with client
Ensures project needs are satisfied by effectively managing all project staff and resources
As project resources or needs change from time to time, assume other project team member responsibilities
Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors, and provides performance-enhancing feedback to team members
Implements the firm’s processes to reduce risks and ensure uniform quality in all phases
Ensures the firm’s activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance
Qualified candidates must have a B.S. or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited architectural college or university. Desirable skills include AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, Photoshop, In-Design, and Microsoft Office. Our search will not be solely guided on years of experience, as three: living architecture is looking for the right fit.
