Provide landscape architecture services for KLJ projects and subconsultant services in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner
Provide landscape architecture services in conjunction with Project Managers in the production of site analysis, concept design, design development, and presentations
Work on all phases of projects, from schematic design through construction administration and project closeout
Prepare project scopes of services, contracts, estimates, schedules, reports, bid openings, tabulations, etc. to carry out technical and administrative assignments
Use CADD and other necessary software programs and equipment to prepare and revise technical drawings. Common software programs include Civil 3D, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, Google Earth, Land FX, and Spec-Link.
Provide quality control by reviewing work completed to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards and respective state licensing boards
Adhere to project budgets, phases, and deadline driven schedules
Works autonomously with ability to understand and implement the next steps in a project sequence with minimal supervisory direction when required
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Project and client management on multi-disciplinary projects, whether leading or serving in a support role
Assist with and lead business development opportunities, marketing strategy, response to RFPs (request for proposals), interviews, client meetings, and public presentations.
Leading and participating in project meetings with stakeholders and clients, on-site construction observation and providing appropriate documentation
Provide direction, review, mentorship, and support to the group by leading projects; assuring proper practices and techniques
Public involvement including reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material
Effectively deal with difficult situations and confrontation
Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff and closely monitor backlog and other miscellaneous financial reports as it relates to project and staff management
Provide coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
Manage and delegate design and production tasks to internal / external team members
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in landscape architecture and 10+ years of experience
A PLA (Professional Landscape Architecture certification) is required
A post graduate degree is highly desired
Project management experience is preferred
Knowledge of Oracle Financial Management and Planning software
Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual work 40+ hours per week with 80% of the time spent in the office and 20% in the field.
