WHO WE NEED
We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Project Manager/Design Manager in the Architectural Group at our Chevy Chase, MD office to work with one of our largest government clients to assist in the administration of a large, multiyear design-build contract. The candidate should have a Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience. An RA is required, and the candidate must have experience as a Lead Project Architect. Previous experience with administration of design-build projects in excess of $20 million, plus experience with multi-phase renovation projects in occupied facilities, with a total area of not less than 50,000 g.s.f. Experience with healthcare and/or research facilities and projects for the Federal Government is also a must.
Some of the primary duties will include coordination of the design review schedules with inputs from design build project stakeholders; maintaining a master review schedule with information provided from the design-builder while coordinating the logistics for the meetings, dates, time, and attendance; coordination of the documentation and client response for design RFI’s and design submittals, and maintain a record for the client project manager in a format as designated by the Government; provide analysis to track design trend data consistent with the requirements for the project and noting any non-compliant elements and/or scope increases; provide orderly transition of Government documentation and design process files when required at the completion date of the period of performance, or final submission of construction documents by the design-builder contractor; attend design meetings and maintain meeting minutes; and process shop drawings and submittals.
