Project Manager-Real Estate
Instrumental in the management of design and construction projects assigned by the director of Facility Services, this professional will perform a variety of tasks requiring the application of industry-specific techniques and knowledge. This individual will assist the director by acting as a liaison and coordinator among medical center management/staff and outside contractors, architects, engineers, and other specialty consultants for design review and construction of projects as assigned.
Managing all pre-construction-related activities related to projects developed by outside consultants, and on internally developed projects, all as assigned by the director.
Overseeing services provided by outside planning and design consultants to ensure compliance with medical center standards, the Project Program Statement, and user requirements.
Providing technical review of consultant designs to ensure conformance with medical center, city, state and all other regulatory agency requirements.
Soliciting, evaluating and summarizing proposals, and recommending appropriate contractors, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers for specific tasks or project services.
Participating in the planning and programming process on projects.
Developing project budgets; detailed estimates; and schedules for all phases of design, construction, and certification steps internally or by utilizing outside consultants.
Developing and phases internally, or by utilizing outside consultants for projects.
Administering the process for obtaining internal, state, and local project reporting reviews, permits and inspections required by and related to OSHA, ADA, JCAHO, EOC, ILSM, IDPH and City of Chicago agencies and regulatory requirements.
Coordinating all internal and external operations functions, including facility services engineering, tele-data (IS), environmental, security, infection control, and other support services for each project.
Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering OR a minimum of five or more years of project-management experience required.
Five or more years of experience related to design and construction procedures, including two or more years within a healthcare setting essential.
Demonstrated proficiency in building design, construction, estimating, project scheduling, project management, computer software (Excel spreadsheets and auto CAD) essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Membership in appropriate professional associations and continuing education emphasis related to healthcare preferred.
