Assistant Director of Planning (Administrator II), Planning, Design, & Construction (PDC) California State University, San Marcos
California State University San Marcos seeks an Assistant Director of Planning for their PDC department. Reporting to the Director, PDC, the ADP, will be responsible for directing and managing a wide range of planning and small construction project tasks, campus strategic initiatives, and providing technical and planning expertise to other staff and project teams in the office and across campus The ADP will direct in-house and external resources for a variety of planning and construction projects including campus master plans, space utilization studies, feasibility studies, and small scale design and construction projects. Tasks in this area may include managing space planning and limited scope renovation projects, leading feasibility, conceptual design and programming studies for academic, support and auxiliary facilities, and developing transportation elements of the climate action plan or leading teams for university planning initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning, environmental planning, architecture, engineering, city planning, construction or related field
Plus 4 years of progressively responsible university or municipal planning work experience which includes 2 years of leading and/or supervising staff
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field
Certification from American Institute of Certified Planners or equivalent planning organization (e.g.: SCUP)
Work experience in an academic setting, ideally Public Higher Education
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Prolog, Bluebeam software
Advanced or expert level experience with MS Excel
Salary and Position Status:
Full-time position with benefits ending.
Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected. This position is an Administrator II in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
