Job Description: We are seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager with a minimum of five years’ experience; a good people manager and leader. You will work with another leader and teams of varied experience levels who are all dedicated. We are seeking an experienced generalist architect for collaboration in all phases of the delivery of professional services from pre-design to construction. Georgia license desirable but not mandatory.
Who We Are: RMCA is a firm of six individuals, widely published and the recipients of over 70 local, state, regional, national and international design awards. We are intensely design focused, located in a walkable neighborhood ITP, engaged in a sustainably oriented practice and involved in a diverse range of smaller project types (residential, commercial, adaptive rehab, institutional). We are seeking an experienced generalist architect for collaboration in all phases of the delivery of professional services from pre-design to construction. Responsibilities will range widely depending on abilities and interest and may include, but not be limited to:
3D modeling; BIM
Project feasibility studies
Professional services proposals
Code and ordinance research; life safety regulations
Jurisdictional issues, i.e. permitting, variances, rezoning, SAP applications, etc. including interacting with jurisdiction officials and respond to comments related to permitting, variances, etc
Marketing: renderings, presentation materials, awards entries, social media
Schematic design, design development and construction documents
Product and materials selection and Specifications
Website and social media management
What we want from you:
Able to follow a project through, with some guidance, from inception to completion of construction documents
Able to translate complex designs into clear and concise details and construction documents
Able to work as part of a team
Exercise independent judgement and solve problems
Possess a practical knowledge of local planning and building codes
Proficiency in ArchiCAD software is desirable; proficiency and high efficiency in computer-aided design is a must

About Robert M. Cain, Architect
Robert M. Cain, Architect is a small practice (staff of 6) centered in the southeastern U.S.; recipient of the Silver Medal award for most outstanding design practice in Atlanta, Georgia for 2017. Project base includes adaptive re-use for commercial space, new custom residential in our unique southern vernacular style, institutional and some historic preservation. Mr. Cain is a design Architect of considerable note. The projects he has authored have won over 70 international, national, regional, state and local awards for Excellence in Architecture, Planning and Interior Design. Many of his projects have been the subject of national and regional architectural books, newspaper and magazine articles and public television.Mr. Cain has maintained a private practice since 1983.
