You will be a key member of multiple architectural design teams focused primarily on studies related to building performance and sustainability.
Collaborate in the development of high performance design concept as appropriate, incorporating planning, engineering, interiors, and other required systems.
Provide essential research, report writing and presentations on a variety of High Performance Design topics.
Perform technical analysis for projects that are pursuing LEED, Net Zero Building Certification, WELL Building, or other applicable certifications specific to building locale.
Serve as a sustainability champion within the office, firm and project team.
Collaborate with contractors, cost estimators and others to ensure specified strategies are cost effective from an early stage and add to the internal database of cost metrics.
Review documents for all compliance with approved program requirements of the client.
Confer with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development.
Coordinate work on assigned projects, with architectural team and other disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental design, architecture or other related field;
3+ years’ experience performing independent research on state-of-the-art technologies, environmentally preferred alternative materials and integrated design strategies for high performance design, from conception through construction to operation;
Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability rating systems, life cycle and carbon footprint assessment, energy modeling, shading and daylighting analysis, and overall sustainable design strategies and analysis methods.
WELL Accredited Professional preferred.
Demonstrated experience with building Energy simulation tools such as eQuest, Energy Plus, daylighting simulation tools such as Radiance, Diva and computational fluid dynamic software programs is preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in engineering, environmental design, architecture, or other related field is preferred.
