The Forest Service is currently advertising for an Architect position, located in Region 4 on the Regional Engineering Staff in Ogden, Utah. The incumbent serves as the principal design assistant to the Regional Facility Group Leader for Utah, Nevada, and parts of Idaho, Wyoming, and parts of California.
Responsibilities includes – Acting as Lead Designer on various projects, coordinating and managing other design professionals and design work; preparing project designs, specifications, and cost estimates; acting as the Subject Matter Expert on various codes, such as the International Codes Series with State supplementals, NFPA, ABA, andEnergy Codes; providing guidance and technical support for the largest and most complex facility projects within the Region; preparing and managing design task orders under Architect-Engineer contracts; conducting condition assessments on a wide range of facilities and develops reports detailing concerns and providing recommended solutions; providing technical reviews on designs, drawings, and specifications prepared by other; and other assigned tasks.
Some telecommuting is involved but duty station is Ogden, UT.
