In response to the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19, AIA is creating a “Staff Sharing” job type that allows firms short of staff and not able to hire to connect with firms that may be short of work but wanting to retain staff.
The candidate should be well educated with 5 years of experience (minimum) after his / her degree, including meaningful time at an architectural practice or similar. He / she should be professional, resourceful and have an open-minded, "can do" attitude. He / she should be very familiar with network structuring, VPN, and optimization strategies geared specifically towards maximizing the productivity of our design staff from an IT standpoint. As you know, we use Microsoft 365 and he / she should be very well versed in setting up, editing and troubleshooting the calendar, email and related 365 capabilities, including networking and hosted communications. He / she should be familiar with WebEx and Go-To Meeting communication platforms and the following design / productivity software: Revit, CAD, Rhino, Sketch-Up, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and other similar programs. While the candidate may not have extensive experience in using this software, they need to have a solid understanding of what this software requires from an IT / support standpoint. With respect to hardware, the candidate should have in-depth experience with phone systems, modems, printers / copiers, and our day-to-day computers, monitors, keyboards, etc - the essential equipment.
He / she will be expected to keep an up to date log / task list of ongoing scope. They will meet with Studio leadership for weekly updates and may be required to run tutorials or help sessions for Studio staff. Additionally, we expect you to provide bi-weekly or monthly, in-office, IT Management updates. We can set up a schedule for this once the candidate has been identified.
All candidates must live in CT within reasonable proximity to the Studio.
Basic Benefit Information:
Annual Salary – commensurate with experience
The candidate will be hired directly by RF+P. We will extend the offer letter, noting all appropriate benefits, when a suitable candidate has been identified. For your use during the interview process, we can share the following:
- The base salary will be annual and paid weekly. No overtime payments will be provided.
- All new hires are subject to an initial trial period of sixty (60) days. Compensation will be provided during this period, based on the agreed upon annual salary, but no benefits will be provided.
- Basic benefits include:
Ten (10) days of PTO per year, accrued monthly
Five (5) days of sick/personal per year
100% of medical base plan for employee (employee only) is covered by the firm
100% of life insurance, equal to the annual salary, is covered by the firm
Dental, long term disability and other benefits are available at employee's cost
A 401K plan is available, with an employer contribution match of up to max 1.5% of annual salary
