Position: Project Architect

We are looking for a talented, experienced and passionate architects with 8+ years of custom, high-end residential project experience to join our team.  Geddes Ulinskas Architects (GUA) is a fast growing, highly regarded residential design firm located in San Francisco since 2005.  Our office provides designs for existing and new custom residences throughout the Bay Area, Napa Los Angeles and Hawaii.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or/and master’s degree in architecture
• 10+ years of professional experience in high-end residential architecture and design
• U.S. architecture license
• Proficiency in Ravit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe CS and other graphic software as well as work experience applying these skills in an office setting. Presentation quality hand scratching is important.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical skills, knowledgeable of construction costs and codes, and have a solid knowledge of engineering and environmental disciplines to support coordination and evaluation of the work done by external consultants
• Experienced with client, and contractor interactions, and able to meet high expectations common with high end residential design
• Experienced in all phases of project delivery from conceptual design thru construction and familiar with typical construction phase services

Responsibilities:

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the team and clients, as well as an ability to work at a variety of project scales from planning to detail design
• Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means
• Develops and/or manages, in collaboration with project team, a clear and consistent work plan to achieve the project budget, deliverables, and schedule
• Actively leads distinct portions of a Project with periodic supervision by Project Leadership.
• Handle multiple projects and prioritize efforts
• Produces, coordinates and/or oversees presentation and contract deliverables such as diagrams, 3D models, drawings, renderings, physical models and animations
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a project level
• Actively engages in internal and external professional development opportunities
• Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies
• Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details
• Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and office
