GNB Architects is an established architectural firm looking for an experienced, collaborative, and forward-thinking Architectural Designer. The ideal candidate has practiced in an architectural firm, is preferably 5+ or more years of experience designing multi-family / senior living / mixed-used development projects and is proficient in Data Cad/AutoCAD/Revit, wood construction & spec writing. Applicant has proven ability to successfully work with a team, communicate and present to clients, and evaluate a project’s budget and timelines.
Develop construction plans, elevations, cross sections, wall sections, details, window, and door schedules.
Review and processing of finish submittals, shop drawings, field reports, RFIs and ASIs in a timely manner.
Preparing design presentations and marketing materials.
Coordinate interdisciplinary design and design documentation of our architectural staff in Type V construction.
Efficiently communicate between the project team, clients, contractors, consultants, and building & planning department officials.
Adhere to a project’s budget and timeline.
Participate in design meetings, consultant meetings and project team meetings.
Coordinate all phases of the architectural design, design documentation and construction documentation and process, from programming through construction administration for one or more mid to large/complex projects.
Implement the directions of the Principal in charge regarding all matters relating to the architectural design, project initiation, implementation, development, and execution of the project.

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree of Architecture from an accredited school
5+ years of experience on multi-family and / or senior living / mixed-used development especially wood construction
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Data Cad, Revit, SketchUp, MS Office, Adobe
A team-player mentality and a desire to grow with the company
Expert knowledge of building codes, residential accessibility codes & standards, building construction, and building systems
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
Experienced in working with projects financed with Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs (TDHCA) & US Housing & Urban Development (HUD) 221(d) mortgage loans.
