BAU translates from German as both a noun, a construct, and verb, to build; In one word, an action and a commitment. We see our work as an extension of its place, providing a source of anchoring ...and a vector for being. We offer people of any age, color, faith, orientation, or culture places to belong. Our designs result from the productive client dialectic, opportunities developed out of technical and fiscal constraints, and from the visible and invisible topographies of context. We establish architecture, not with obsessive form, but through carefully scaled and proportioned spatial sequences and tectonic intersections. We design places of equity that are between and within, and that are legible with purpose.
