Responsibilities of the Position
Lead the multifamily building design group by overseeing 1 to 4 projects at a time.
Assemble the project team for each project, and delegate responsibilities and tasks to team members.
Create and monitor the project schedules for the projects under your responsibility, determining the critical path to completion, and ensuring the project stays on track to be completed on time and on budget.
Provide oversight and support to the team members (internal and external) working on each project under your responsibility.
Liaise with the client, owner, internal team members, consultants, government officials and general public through all phases of the project.
Present the project, represent the firm, and represent the project owner as required at public meetings and official hearings.
Produce construction documents independently and in conjunction with the team through each state of the design process.
Review/red-line drawings, and implement a comprehensive QA/QC plan to be applied to all submissions.
Work closely with reviewers and permitting agencies to ensure projects progress through entitlement and permitting efficiently.
What we’re looking for in you:
You are a licensed architect with 7-10 years’ of experience, a significant portion having been in multifamily building design. You are an expert user of both Revit and AutoCAD, and are willing to mentor junior team members in the use of Revit and BIM, as well as multi-family building design concepts in general. You have worked effectively on a team producing multi-family building construction documents and enjoy collaborating with your colleagues throughout the process from initial design conception through permitting and construction administration. You have significant construction administration experience on multifamily buildings. You are excited to lead a team of project designers, ranging from entry level to senior, as well as outside consultants.
