Miller Architecture & Design Studio, an established 20-year regional custom residential design studio, is looking to add to its growing team in Knoxville.
Miller Architecture & Design Studio is a collaborative architecture and interior design practice with a great team environment, professional development opportunities and an expanding design market.
We have a passion for blending classical traditional architecture with today’s modern lifestyles, new urbanism, cottage and estate homes, select commercial, new old house design.
Our studio is currently seeking a Job Captain/Project Architect, licensed preferred, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in custom residential design to join our growing team of professionals. This position requires participation in design and provides full support throughout the completion of the project. Coordinates with Project Management, other architects/architectural staff, and consultants. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoints on projects. Coordinates with Directors on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Uses 2D and 3D computer software in developing design and construction drawings. ArchiCAD preferred, AutoCAD and/or Revit, Sketchup, proficient with rendering software.
- Works to develop designs of more complex components or overall design of simple structures.
- Working knowledge of IBC, IRC, and material-specific codes and how to apply them.
- Provides quality-control checks of one’s own work.
- Accomplishes reference research.
- Works collaboratively with staff of Miller Architecture & Design Studio.
- Checks shop drawings and product submittals
- Provides field observation during construction.
- Completes tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
- Follows the QA/QC plan that is established for the project.
- Possesses interest and shows self-motivation in learning.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates time management skills to plan and execute projects.
- Demonstrates strong commitment to continued personal growth and development in all aspects of their work.
- Participating member of a professional and/or technical society
- Regularly attend AIA or other training to advance knowledge of architectural practice.

Schedule:
- 8 hours
