R2R studio is seeking a Project Architect who is creative and collaborative to join our eleven-person firm in Knoxville, Tennessee.

For nearly 20 years, R2R studio has been home to a team-oriented group of architects and designers with a passion for learning.  Our projects are unique to each concept and client that enters our office, and we pride ourselves in offering a holistic design approach to each project we work on. We are a small firm of driven problem solvers, always striving for powerful aesthetics on a wide range of building scopes.

As part of our team, you will have opportunities to engage in a variety of project types ranging from custom homes to new restaurant franchises.  Our work generally focuses on smaller to mid-size Hospitality, Commercial Retail and Office, and Single and Multi-Family Residential project types.

Our office is located in the growing West Knoxville area, convenient to the urban life of downtown and a wide range of outdoor activities. Downtown Knoxville offers exciting night life and stops for national music and performing arts.  We are a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park; and Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness offers acres of forest where you can hike, bike, climb, or paddle, even closer to home. If sports are your thing, University of Tennessee’s athletic events are in a league of their own. Knoxville has all the benefits of a large city with the small-town feel.

Responsibilities Shall Include:

• Managing small-scale projects through all phases from initial client meetings through construction administration
• Coordinating with the internal office team on daily tasks for 1 – 3 projects
• Producing accurate construction documents and providing quality control
• Managing consultant coordination
• Preparing for and leading client presentations
• Collaborating with other teams on large-scale projects
• Providing a high level of client service and team support through great design.

Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• A minimum of 6 years working in the field of architecture
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit & Microsoft Suite
• Preference given to candidates with prior work experience or proficiency in:
  • Hospitality, Retail or Residential Design
  • Enscape, Sketchup or other rendering software
  • Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Ability to sketch digitally & by hand
  • Professional Licensure
