The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is accepting applications for a Lateral Firefighter position. This opportunity is available to Firefighters that are currently working full-time and have a minimum of two years fulltime experience with a career fire department, working a 56-hour work week or equivalent while assigned to a shift. This recruitment process will fill anticipated Airport Firefighter openings in 2026. The Airport Firefighter position is a full-time position located at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The Airport Firefighters are responsible for a variety of functions within the MSP International Airport and neighboring communities, including the following: respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents which include the provision of medical, fire suppression, and rescue services. Protecting life and property from the hazards of fire, providing assistance and responding to various types of medical and other emergencies. Firefighters apply fire suppression methods to control and stop property damage, save lives through rescue from fire or other hazardous environments, provide efficient and immediate care to the ill and injured, perform safety inspections and participate in public education programs.
This is a full-time Lateral Firefighter job opportunity with 24-hour shifts and average of 56 hours per week, including 3 hours that are subject to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that shall be paid at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the base hourly rate.
