At Narrate Design we create spaces that tell your story with purpose, clarity, and a distinct point of view. Great stories don’t happen by chance. Over the decades we’ve developed remarkably agile processes that harness the power of collaboration and creativity to meet your unique goals for functionality. As we’ve honed our craft, we’ve had the opportunity to partner with a rich spectrum of clients on a wide variety of projects. In our portfolio, you’ll find everything from community-centered spaces to prototypes and places dedicated to work and learning.
Among these diverse environments, you’ll find a common theme: people. They are at the heart of every story and at the center of every design. People-first design has been our singular focus since our inception in 1993 — and it’s our promise to our clients, our community, and each other.
We continue to honor the legacy of our founders, Janet Selser and Bob Schaefer, through our work and look forward to a bright future under our new name, Narrate. Our firm’s name articulates the parallels between storytelling and architectural design. It captures our collaborative spirit and thoughtful approach. The singular name broadens our ...brand, giving it room to encompass our entire scope of services — architecture, interiors, and planning. We are excited about where this next chapter is taking us. Whatever lies ahead, one thing is clear: people will remain at the heart of every story and at the center of every design.
